As each person improves, the world becomes a better place.

What is your story?

Ever since I can remember, my dream was to become a detective, I never imagined that I’d end up building businesses alongside celebrities and c-suite executives. I grew up on a farm in a tiny hometown, driving tractors and reading Nancy Drew and Choose Your Own Adventures. When I turned seventeen, I knew it was time to choose my path.

Some of us are blessed with knowing how our dreams lead to our destiny. When I fulfilled mine, I discovered it wasn’t what I wanted, not because of fear (surprisingly), or lack of experience (sex crimes division and PI work provided that), or even determination…but because of hats and wigs.

For hours on end in the backseat of my Chevy, I studied people and how they presented themselves, letting their actions tell their stories. I spent my mental energy asking questions others never thought of, listening for what was not being told, and looking beyond the obvious for what else might be happening.

As a PI, I wore different hats and wigs, going undercover and finding new and unusual ways to connect with others, be curious, and solve problems – BECAUSE branding and business are a people sport. (Did you know that?)

I don’t just believe – I know we are all in the business of people. The clarity in the hats and wigs we choose to wear brands us, helps us create, build, innovate, and interrupt – THRIVE! And the sooner we discover that being in business requires a different kind of undercover, one with a new kind of hat and a different style of wig, the better.

We get creative, we adapt, not change. We not only see the unicorn in others, but we also believe it in them, because of them. And just when you think you can’t go any further, you stop and look in the mirror and realize the answers were always there.

We choose our hats and wear our wigs because the destiny we want isn’t going to make itself. The best thing I’ve learned, after multiple businesses and different industries, is that the magic has always been in our own mess. Sometimes, we just have to have the courage to wear our own hair and leave all the other hats and wigs behind.

That’s what I do for people in their businesses, so they can not only show up as themselves but also build a business, build a brand, stay relevant, be profitable, and discover a faster way to wear fewer hats.

How would you describe yourself as a content creator?

I am known for my no-nonsense, motivational approach to business and entrepreneurship. I co-authored the book “Intelligent Curiosity” and am currently writing two more books scheduled for release in the fall of 2023. I also host a popular podcast called “Real Talk with Lisa Patrick” and a live-stream TV show called “That Problem Solved”. In these shows, I share my thoughts on branding, monetization, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development.

My content is characterized by my energetic, authentic, no-bullshit personality, and my willingness to speak candidly about my successes and failures. I use a variety of mediums to create my content, including social media platforms such as QP, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, as well as my own website.

Through my content, I inspire and educate my audience, helping them achieve their own goals and succeed in their chosen fields.

What excites you most about creating content?

I make it my mission to humanize the experience and leverage my small-town farm roots to engage and connect with my audience on social media. Drawing from my personal experiences and background, I provide a unique perspective that resonates with people on a real and authentic level.

Relatable stories and personal anecdotes are powerful tools for engaging with an audience and making complex topics more approachable and actionable. By highlighting actionable steps and emphasizing that success is achievable for anyone with an all-in, show-up-and-take-action mindset, coupled with strategic planning, I aim to inspire and motivate my audience to take consistent action and pursue their goals.

My goal is to create a genuine connection with those who generously offer their time, by sharing relatable stories, practical advice, and an inspiring message.

What are your favorite platforms to do business and why?

I make sure to be present on all platforms because different audiences have different content preferences. Being available on multiple platforms enables me to reach a wider audience and ensure that I’m connecting with people where they are most likely to engage with my brands.

For instance, some people prefer video content on YouTube, while others prefer to read blogs or articles on my website or in publications. Some may also follow my social media accounts for the latest updates. By diversifying my content and making it available on different platforms, I have the freedom to cater to the preferences of my audiences and make it easy for them to engage with me and my brands.

Moreover, being on all platforms increases brand visibility and credibility. The more places people see your brand, the more likely they are to remember it and consider it when making purchasing decisions.

Although it takes a significant amount of time and resources to be strategic and maintain a presence on all platforms, it’s worth the investment in the long run. By being accessible to your audience wherever they are, you can increase your reach, engagement, and ultimately, your bottom line.

What was something you recently learned that surprised you?

I am always surprised, although by now I shouldn’t be, at how much people talk without following through. They’ll say, “it was my idea” or “we’ve been talking about X, Y, and Z forever,” but then never take the action on what they wanted. It seems like they’re always waiting for someone else to do the work for them. That’s why there’s so much opportunity for those who are willing to show up and do the work themselves.

How do you stay up-to-date on latest trends?

Staying up to date with the latest trends and information can be a full-time job in and of itself, and it can be overwhelming to try to do it all on your own. That’s why I hire the right people to help me stay informed and on top of things.

No one has ever built an empire all on their own, and it’s important to recognize that we all need support in order to succeed. By hiring experts who specialize in certain areas, you can tap into their knowledge and expertise and gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends and developments in your industry.

I have a social media strategist and manager to help me stay on top of the latest trends in digital marketing and create high-quality content. Having the right experts on your team can make all the difference. It can be challenging to stay on top of the latest trends and information in your industry while also running your business. That’s why it’s essential to hire folks like me, brand experts and strategists who specialize in certain areas, and can help you stay up to date with the latest trends.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the constant flow of information, don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are plenty of experts out there who can help you stay on top of the latest trends and position your business for success.

How would you describe your business?

Who (or what) is an inspiration for you?

As someone passionate about personal growth and success, I am truly inspired by individuals who have the courage to take a risk on themselves and put in the hard work to achieve and exceed their goals.

One particular source of inspiration for me is my daughters, whose curiosity and determination are a remarkable combination. Witnessing their flourishing growth and success brings me immense joy and satisfaction.

Imagine you could change 3 things about your journey that brought you here, what would they be?

Nothing. Everything that happened in my journey was supposed to happen. I accept the journey as my teacher. By taking responsibility for my own learning and growth, I stay curious and open to new opportunities and experiences that can help me achieve my goals.

It’s important to reflect on my mistakes and successes and use that knowledge to make strategic, informed decisions in the future.

It’s also my responsibility to learn from the people I encounter along the way, both good and bad.

Forgiveness plays an important role in this process, as it allows me to let go of negative emotions that hold me back and prevent me from moving forward. By finding forgiveness, being grateful for the learning experience, and never repeating the same mistake twice (unless it had a positive outcome), I set myself up for long-term success and growth.

My fear is losing the courage and self-awareness along the way to continue forging ahead and embracing this mindset.

What does 'social access' mean to you?

Opportunity to spark a connection arises when social media is used properly. Social media is not just a place to post pictures of your cat and argue with strangers in the comments section! Believe it or not, it presents an opportunity to spark connections with real humans. If you take the initiative to be curious about other people and focus less on yourself, and commit to taking appropriate action, you may forge deeper connections over time. Who knew that all those hours spent scrolling through our feeds could actually lead to something meaningful?

If you could connect with anyone, who would you connect with and why?

Anyone. I firmly believe that forging a genuine connection with others is key to building a successful brand and business. As a brand strategist and growth specialist, I am always on the lookout for the next unicorn – an individual with the ability to grow exponentially and disrupt industries. When it comes to connecting with others, I am interested in connecting with founders, celebrities, and business leaders who have the potential to create something truly extraordinary.

While I may not have a particular famous or influential person in mind, I am always searching for individuals who are driven, follow through on their commitments, stay true to themselves despite their ambitions, and have a unique vision for the future. By connecting with these individuals, I hope to help them unlock their unicorn ability, monetize themselves, surpass their potential, and push past their comfort zones.

Optional: How do you use QP?

I see it as a great opportunity to share knowledge and teach things that everyone needs to know about communication in the world.

What is your most shameless elevator pitch?

I am the pitbull you’d never run away from and what you’ve been looking for. You just didn’t know it until right this minute!

I latch on to your business challenge and never let go until I’ve achieved your goals. I let my actions drive results and tell the story.
